Kankana Mukhopadhyay is currently professor of human resource management at Praxis Business School, Kolkata, India. She earned a bachelor’s degree in physics from the University of Calcutta, a master’s degree in human resource management from the Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Shibpur, another master’s degree in computer science from Indira Gandhi National Open University, and a PhD in management sciences from the Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Shibpur. Her doctoral dissertation examined the use of IT-Enabled Competency Management software with artificial neural networks in assessing employee competencies. She has guided one doctoral thesis on return-to-work initiatives for the female talent pool at Bharathiar University, Coimbatore. Since joining the faculty of the School of Management Sciences at the Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Shibpur in 2005, she has taught all levels of organizational behaviour and HRM courses.
